It’s time to head to the Devil’s Roar for some flame grilled goodness. These Kraken Tentacles are tender, flavorful and delicious. The recipe calls for 3 pounds of cooked octopus legs for 6 hungry pirates, but here I basically use two frozen 8oz packages from Walmart, for just a two pirate sloop. Make sure you defrost accordingly and once grilled serve up immediately for best flavor and texture. Ahoy pirates...it’s the start of a new year and whether you raised too many tankards during the holidays or you’ve decided to dry dock your tankard this month, it’s already been two whole weeks since you’ve seen a drop of grog. But, don’t prepare to walk the plank just yet just because you're a pirate who feels incomplete without the taste of grog flowing through you...I am here to share a recipe that is sure to help you get through the month. Say hello to The Shipwright – A post Grogmanay holiday concoction that is full of that grog flavor you crave but without the rum or even a rum substitute. Let’s get started...all you’ll need to do is rummage through that storage crate and find a sprig of mint, 2 lime peels, 2 teaspoons of coconut palm sugar, 1 ounce of lime juice, 1 tsp molasses, and just a hint of salt and an 1/8th of a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar ...add these to a drink mixer and muddle for a 30 seconds or so. Add ice, 6 ounces of coconut water, an 1/8th of a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 dashes of angostura bitters and 1 drop of liquid smoke. Cover, shake well, strain over ice in a goblet and finish it off with slices of lime and orange.
