The Buccaneer's Bloodbath
As Halloween inches ever closer so does the craving for a sweet treat, in the spookiest of vessels. Pirates inspire everything here at the Gato and this seasonal grogtail is no exception. The Buccaneer's Bloodbath is a coconut and rum cream laced libation with a rich, gory swirl of sweet blood orange that pools appropriately at the base of the skull.

Ingredients

2 oz Rum Creme

1.5 oz good white rum

4 oz coconut water

1 oz coconut cream

2 oz blood orange syrup

1 tbsp toasted coconut
How to

Add the coconut to flat plate or a napkin. Using a 12 oz skull cocktail glass (or a less spooky version), moisten the rim with a touch of the blood orange syrup and dip the rim into the coconut to coat.

Add the blood orange syrup to the glass and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Add the remaining ingredients into a drink mixer, add ice, shake really well for a minute.

Remove the glass from the freezer and swirl the cold blood orange syrup around to coat the glass as best as possible.

Strain the drink into the glass over ice.

Serve with straw.
