Lime, Coconut, Grenadine Mocktail

If you're a Bilge Rat you are well aware of the fact that respect doesn't come your way often. The job you perform is necessary, essential, ship saving one might even say...and yet...pirate captains and their brethren barely give you the time of day. Everything tastes like salt, fresh pomegranates rarely get down to the belly of the beast, and the limes afforded to you are either parched or too old to get even a teaspoon of scurvy fighting nectar from.

Don't despair young pirate-in-training for here is a beverage created in your honor. Made from the coconuts found in your barrels, brown sugar syrup, pomegranate nectar, a bit of lime juice and just a hint of that salty bitterness you feel on a daily...this pirate themed mocktail is refreshing even without the rum! Of course you can always sneak some from the captains quarters when she's not looking. Cheers!

Ingredients

Steps

In a mixing glass add the salt with the lime juice stir to dissolve.

Add the coconut water and turbinado syrup. Stir to combine.

Pour in the grenadine and stir it fully through the drink.

Finish with two dashes of alcohol-free bitters. Stir.

Add crushed ice to serving glass, pour grocktail over ice.

Finish with charred or dehydrated lime wheel. (or a fresh wedge, you deserve it ;-)

Makes one eight ounce mocktail.

GROGTAIL VERSION

If you prefer to sneak some rum into it, top off with one ounce of your favorite spiced rum. Here are a few I highly recommend. RUMS
