Steamed Shrimp with Gato Pub Rub

While the Gato Pub Rub has mainly been used for meats and fish on the grill and in the cast iron pan, the reality is that this rub can be used in so many other ways. In this case an Ocean Crawler boil. Try it out for an incredibly simple, easy appetizer or game day snack.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb raw shrimp shelled or shells on

  • 2 tbsp Gato Pub Rub

  • 2 quarts water

  • 2 tbsp sea salt

  • 1 lemon

  • ¼ cup cocktail sauce (homemade or store bought)

  • lots of prepared horseradish

INSTRUCTIONS

If you want your shrimp peeled, start there. In a three quart container add the water and salt and brine the shrimp for 15 minutes. Remove and wash off the salty brine.

In a medium saucepan add one cup of water and the Gato Pub Rub. Bring to boil.

Add shrimp, toss to coat, reduce heat to medium, cover pot and let steam for 2 minutes or until shrimp are pink.

Remove from heat, remove shrimp and place on plate or in a bowl and let cool for 15 minutes or until desired temperature is reached for your liking.

Serve with lemon wedges, cocktail sauce, and horseradish.

Cheers!
